How Ongig Works For Employers
What is Ongig?
Ongig is a new form of job creation. We believe that visuals (videos & pictures), socialization & real-time interactivity help bring a job to life.
So we invented a way for employers to do so: we call it "Do-It-Yourself Recruiting."
How do I create a video?
Ongig lets you create a video in one of three ways:
- Use an existing video file (under 3 minutes please) -- Just upload it from your hard drive.
- Record a simple video using Ongig’s own “record” button.
- Hire Ongig’s production team to come to your office to record a video.

What images/pictures do I get to upload?
You can upload any image that represents you, your company and team.
Examples include pictures of your work space, live events you’ve put on, screen-shots, work parties, other people on your team.
What if I don’t like how my job looks?
You get to preview your social/video job before it goes live.
And even after you’ve published your job, you can go back and edit it any time!
What makes jobs on Ongig so social?
We believe your job is its own social network, and we have created a set of tools that encourages your team, connectors and candidates to socialize around each job.
How do job seekers interact with me?
Job candidates can communicate with you in a few ways:
- They can ask a question publicly in the Comments section.
- They can "follow" your job (they get alerted any time there is activity on it!).
- They apply for your job by submitting their LinkedIn profile and an introductory note (which Ongig relays to you via email).
Why do you have a Comments & Shout-Outs area?
A-player" job seekers tell us that employers sometimes forget vital pieces of information in their job (e.g. "Does the employer sponsor a work visa?" or "Is there any travel required?").
The comments area helps you answer such questions before the job seeker applies; that way, you don’t waste each other’s time.
Your friends can also give you and your job a "Shout-Out" — that's a great way to add legitimacy.
