    How about remote working?

  • Klout
We have lost some stellar candidates due to our current policy against remote engineers. This might be something we change in the future, but we feel that culture is too critical for us to not have the entire team in the office.

I don't have a Klout score of 10 yet (because I don't do Twitter or Facebook), but my blog (13,000 monthly uniques) is under my own domain (not at WordPress.com) -- does Klout include WordPress blogs hosted under their own domain name? Thanks!

  • Klout
Unfortunately, that's a huge signal that Klout is ignoring. We are working on solutions to this problem (Wordpress only authenticates under its own domain).

I've never technically worked in an Agile environment (though I believe in the methodology). How important is Agile experience to this Web App Engineering job? Thanks.

  • Klout
Agile experience is a plus, not a requirement. More importantly is the ability to communicate well, work with technical as well as non-technical folks, and can deal with changing requirements.

Can you describe exactly what type of knowledge or experience you want someone to have with Node.js?
    2011-10-28 11:29:08

  • Klout
Having played with Node.js as a hobbyist would be good. A big plus if you have a demo app running somewhere. Direct Node.js experience is not necessary but you should understand scoping, javascript modules, and the callback pattern.
