GoKRT makes online shopping easier by taking items from any store and putting them in a single view.

Questions & Answers with GoKRT
What are the top requirements to qualify for this position?
  1. Fit is going to be critical: someone who appreciates open and forward communication, and wants to work in a leadership capacity.
  2. Experience working in the eCommerce space is preferred, and a desire to redefine online shopping is a necessity.
  3. Demonstrated ability to develop applications in Ruby on Rails; experience in Python will work as well.
  4. Primary work will be development on the backend with systems and deep database structures.
Why is this position open?
This is not the first time that GoKRT’s idea has been applied to online shopping.

There are huge databases of shopping information, online affiliate programs have matured, and e-stores are fine with simply filling orders. Browser extensions also open up an opportunity to do things differently before.

All of these factors have created an opportunity that is different than when this was tried 5 years ago.

The timing is right to redefine online shopping, and make the customer experience better.
Describe the current team this person will join, including the reporting structure.
Right now there are two members and we are looking to complete out team with the third cofounder. We have business development and UX/UI covered.

GoKRT will be a flat environment. Titles aren
What percentage of the candidate's time will be spent on existing products/business, versus items that are new?
Building a Product Roadmap will be the first duty.

After that there are three main focus areas:
  1. Aggregation: Building lists should be straightforward and simple.
  2. There will also be a web component to help drive traffic to the tool. The jist of the idea is enabling lazy shoppers to buy products to get into something new. Like rock climbing or baking.
What challenges will this person face on a daily basis?
We are a startup, so you are working hard on something that takes a lot of effort to get going.

We have to perform for investors, build technology that has not been built, and scale something that will work across multiple websites.

This will be like a giant puzzle, especially when it comes to payment and security.
How are you positioned within the industry and what are your growth plans?
We have a “customer first” approach. No one in the market is truly thinking about the customer first. They are thinking about their brand first. They may have great features, but it is all about the brand.

We are all about making the customer’s online experience better. A good analogy is Square. They are thinking of how to make eCommerce easier for the consumer.

We want people to see GoKRT as making their lives easier with online shopping.
What is your business model?
Our business model is based on affiliate programs which yield a percentage of the transaction. For example, Amazon has an affiliate program that pays 4%.

Each customer that spends $400 per month would be worth about $16 per month in revenue based on that model. Scale it to 10,000 users at that level, and you have $160,000 in revenue per month.

This sounds very cool. Will you be interested in remote work from United Kingdom?

I have worked with Justin for years and he gets things done. His approach to Lean development will allow this great idea to take off once the MVP is built. Looking forward to seeing what technical mind can bring this to life.
